Due to our unique relationship with colleges, we are able to concentrate on the information required for you to excel in your chosen career. These courses will be delivered during an eight hour day, which further condenses the overall length of the program.

Program Description

This twelve week program (480 hours training) will prepare students for employment in the field. This training is designed to assist students in becoming proficient in Call Taking, Dispatching, 9-1-1, and Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) duties.

Students receive three hundred sixty (360) hours of training delivered in six (modules) during the first nine weeks which will give the student comprehensive skills to become a communicator in an Emergency Services environment. This training is intense and involves classroom lectures, student projects and presentations and simulated call centre scenario work.

After successful completion of these six modules, students are required to complete one hundred twenty (120) hours of Critical Call Management courses. These are higher level specialty courses which greatly enhance the desirability of these successful graduates to the Communications Centre Environment. These courses are also attended by currently employed experienced Communicators.

This program also includes tours of various Public Safety Communications Centres, resume preparation assistance and a career day where they have the opportunity to meet with possible future employers.
