GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEMS & RECEIVERS
This course is of interest to anyone who will use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver whether in their employment or recreational activities.
This course begins with the history and continues to the current development/use of Global Positioning Systems (GPS). Basic compass and mapping skills are reviewed. The course progresses to the nomenclature of GPS receivers; how they work; and how to use a GPS receiver with MAPS. The course ends following a Geocaching exercise which ties the course material together.
COURSE LENGTH: 1 day or 2 evenings
PERSONAL SECURITY
This course is of interest to anyone concerned with their personal security.
The course covers target hardening of your home and internet security to protect your personal identity. Personal habits for daily activities to protect your identity from theft are covered to prevent, as an example, use of your credit cards for fraudulent purposes.
